Profile

Interdisciplinary academic leader — business, engineering, and computing

Senior Lecturer and engineering-focused academic bridging control, optimisation, machine learning, data, and applied systems practice — with global IEEE ethics assessor certification under IEEE’s international programme.

About

I currently hold module leadership responsibilities across Deriving Business Value Using Data Analytics, Digital Control and Automation, Database Engineering, Machine Learning, and Scalable Systems. I have also held course leadership responsibilities and serve in strategic roles including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champion and Internationalisation Lead.

My teaching and research are shaped by a learning-by-doing philosophy: challenge-led and project-based approaches that move students from theory to simulation, implementation, testing, reflection, and professional communication.

My academic foundations span computer science and engineering, postgraduate control and automation, and doctoral work in advanced control strategies — and alongside university roles, my industry experience in mission-critical operations informs reliability, multidisciplinary collaboration, and decision-making in complex environments.

I am a certified global IEEE ethics assessor under the IEEE Global AI Ethics Assessor programme, supporting ethical evaluation of AI initiatives alongside my research and advisory work.
